Jessica Pegula beat Jasmine Paolini 6-2 6-3 in 63 minutes to secure her second spot of the Stefanie Graf Group a the WTA Finals in Riyadh.
Pegula converted her first break point to take a 2-1 lead. The US player earned a double break in the fifth game to race out to a 5-1 lead. Paolini held serve in the seventh game to close the game to 2-5. Pegula served out 6-2 on her second set point in less than half an hour.
Pegula broke serve in the third game to take a 2-1 lead and closed out the match with a second break in in the ninth game.
Pegula did not drop her serve. She faced just one break point in the sixth game of the first set and los just eight points on return in the entire match.
