Taylor Fritz rallied from one set down to beat Fabian Maroszan 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-1) reaching the third round at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
Maroszan saved two break points in the first round. The Hungarian player broke twice in the sixth and eighth games to win the first set 6-2.
Both players saved two break points in both the first and eleventh games of the second set. Maroszan opened up a 2-0 lead, but Fritz won seven of the next nine points including two mini-breaks to clinch the tie-break.
The third set went on serve until the 12th game when Maroszan saved two match points. Fritz earned three mini-breaks to win the tie-break 7-1.
Jaume Munar beat Flavio Cobolli 7-5 6-1. Both players went on serve until the 12th game when Munar earned the first break of serve to win the first set 7-5. Munar went up a double break to race out to a 5-0 lead. Cobolli held serve at 30 in the sixth game but he did not convert his only break point in the seventh game. Munar served out the second set with a hold at deuce.
