Lorenzo Sonego beat Sebastian Korda 6-2 6-3 in 1 hour and 28 minutes to set up a second round match against Lorenzo Musetti at the Paris Rolex Masters at the Defence Arena.
Sonego earned the first break point in the third game, but Korda saved it to hold serve for 2-1. Sonego converted his first break point in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead, as Korda hit a forehand into the net. Sonego went up a double break in the seventh game to take a 5-2 lead and wrapped up the opening set 6-2 on his first set point.
Sonego went up a set and a break in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead. Korda converted his fourth break point in the sixth game to draw level to 3-3. Sonego btoke again in the seventh game and consolidated the break by holding serve at love to open up a 5-3 lead. Sonego earned two match points in the ninth game. Korda saved the first match point with ace but Sonego sealed the win on his second opportunity.
