Sixth seed Linda Noskova reached the quarter finals at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo with a 5-7 6-3 6-4 win over McCartney Kessler.
Noskova hit 10 aces and saved six of nine break points to set up a quarter final match against Ana Kalinskaya, who overcame seventh seeded Diana Schnaider 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 7-6 (7-5).
Noskova saved four break points to hold serve at deuce in the first game of the opening set. Kessler earned the first break in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead. Noskova broke back in the 10th game to draw level to draw level to 5-5. Kessler broke for the second time in the 11th game and served out on her second set point in the 12th game.
