For the first time in her career, Amanda Anisimova has won multiple WTA titles within the same year after claiming her second trophy of 2025 at the China Open on Sunday.

The American world No.4 overcame a second set blip to defeat Linda Noskova 6-0, 2-6, 6-2, to win the WTA 1000 event in Beijing. Anisimova, who was playing in her fifth Tour-level final of the season, won 67% of her first service points and broke her Czech rival five times en route to glory. She is the third player from her country to have won the China Open after Serena Williams and Coco Gauff.

Anisimova, who also defeated Gauff and Jasmine Paolini in China, has claimed 43 wins on the Tour so far this season. Coming into the Asian swing, she was runner-up at the US Open. Earlier this year, she also won the Doha Open before making the title match at both Queen’s and Wimbledon.

“It’s been quite a few weeks for me, for sure.” Anisimova told reporters on Sunday.

“I feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself. I can take a lot of positives and look at it as a lot of progress for me just figuring out ways to face certain challenges and push myself in moments when it feels like I can’t go any further. I feel like in that sense I learned that I’m stronger than I think.

“That’s a huge win for me. On top of also getting to the final and winning the title is really incredible. I’m really happy about that.”

Despite her success, the 24-year-old admits there is still plenty of room for improvement in her game, particularly in the mental aspect. Anisimova admits she is still dealing with doubts about her ability. Even though she will be ranked third in the WTA Race on Monday, which is based solely on points earned in 2025.

“Your mind can play tricks on you and tell you you can’t keep going, if there’s certain pains you’re having, even negativity that shows up. I think that’s just part of my learning process, just getting better with each day.” She explained.

“The mental game is so important for an athlete. I’m still constantly learning and trying to get better in that department. I think there’s always room for improvement there.

“This week has been really great for me in terms of pushing myself and being mentally strong.”

After recently securing her place in the WTA Finals, Anisimova confirmed that she is currently not planning to make any changes to her schedule for the rest of the year. Her next event will be the Wuhan Open, the final WTA 1000 event for players.
