Alexander Bublik rallies from one set down to reach the first Masters 1000 semifinal in Paris

Alexander Bublik came back from one set down to beat Alex De Minaur 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 7-5 in 2 hours and 22 minutes reaching the first Masters 1000 semifinal of his career at the Paris Rolex Masters. Bublik converted two of his five break points and hit 44 winners to 54 unforced errors. He did not drop his serve. The 28-year-old Kazakh player will take on Felix Auger Aliassime

De Minaur saved a break point in the eighth game of the first set. The Australian player missed a break point at 5-5. Both players held on serve in the first set to set up a tie-break. De Minaur opened up a 3-1 lead, but Bublik won four consecutive points to take a 5-3 lead. De Minaur won three points to earn a set point at 6-5 and converted it to win the tie-break 7-5 in 54 after Bublik made a forehand error. 

Bublik earned a break in the third game of the second set with a forehand return winner. The Kazakh player saved a break point in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead. He fired an ace to hold at 15 when he was serving for the set at 5-4 forcing the match to the third set after 1 hour and 31 minutes. 

Both players went on serve in the first eight games of the third set. De Minaur saved two break points in the ninth game. Bublik broke serve in the 11th game after De Minaur made a double fault on the break point. Bublik fired an ace on the match point to seal the third set 7-5 drawing to 2-2 in his head-to-head matches against De Minaur.
