Jiri Lehecka beat seventh seed Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 6-4 to seal his spot in the second round at the Qatar Exxon Mobil Open in Doha.
Lehecka won 88% of his first serve points to set uup a second round match against Fabian Maroszan.
Lehecka earned his first break in the third game and held at 15 to take a 3-1 lead. The Czech player held his next service games to win the first set 6-4.
Lehecka converted his second break point in the first game of the second set and held serve to open up a 2-0 lead. The Czech player sealed the win on his first match point.
Lehecka improved to 4-1 in his five head-to-head matches against Dimitrov.
Lehecka won the ATP 250 title in Brisbane and reached the fourth round at the Australian Open.
Dimitrov was making his come-back after retiring to Francesco Passaro in the first round match at the Australian Open.
