World number 7 Jessica Pegula is the top seed at the Adelaide International WTA 500 tournament that starts on Monday.

The top four seeds Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, Daria Kasatkina and Danielle Collins will receive first round byes into the second round.

The draw was held on Saturday. The first round will feature a series of intriguing matches.

In the top half of the draw world number 16 Mirra Andreeva will clash against 2024 Australian Open quarter finalist Linda Noskova in one of the most interesting first round matches of the Adelaide tournament.

Andreeva will meet Noskova for the second time in as many tournaments this year. Seventeen-year-old Andreeva beat Noskova 6-3 6-0 en route to the Brisbane semifinal in the first week of the 2025 season. The winner of this match will clash against Jessica Pegula, who will play her first tournament of the 2025 season after withdrawing from the Brisbane International.

Pegula will play her first match of the season after withdrawing before last week’s Brisbane International.

Danielle Collins will open her season in Adelaide. She was part of the US team at the United Cup but she did not play a single match. Collins will clash against Ons Jabeur in a blockbuster match between Grand Slam finalists.

Jabeur reached the final at Wimbledon twice in 2022 and 2023 and at the US Open in 2022. The Tunisian player beat Elina Avanesyan at the Brisbane International to reach her first quarter final since Berlin 2024 and will play in Adelaide as a wild card. She is playing her second tournament in more than five months in Australia after she was affected by a shoulder injury during the 2024 season.

Marketa Vondrousova will make her come-back in Adelaide. She ended her 2024 season after Wimbledon due to a hand injury last July. The 2023 Wimbledon champion will face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round.

Donna Vekic will clash against Yulia Putintseva in one of the most exciting matches of the top draw.

Paula Badosa and Marta Kostyuk will both play against a qualifier in the top half of the draw. They will meet in the second round if they win their opening match.

In the bottom half of the draw Emma Navarro will face either Ekaterina Alexandrova or a qualifier in the second round. Navarro will be looking to bounce back from her first round match defeat against Australian wild card Kimberly Birrell in Brisbane.

Number 8 seed Jelena Ostapenko leads a tough section of the draw that also features Madison Keys and Beatriz Haddad Maia. Ostapenko, who lost to Marie Bouzkova in the first round match in Brisbane, will face Magdalena Frech in his opening match.

The bottom half of the draw will feature Russian players Anna Kalinskaya and Liudmila Samsonova, who will play against qualifiers in their first round matches.
