World number 32 Flavio Cobolli came back from one set down to beat Alexander Bublik 4-6 6-1 7-6 (7-4) at the China Open in Beijing.
Bublik earned the first break in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead after Cobolli made two double faults. Cobolli broke back in the eighth game to draw level to 4-4. Bublik broke serve in the ninth game to win the first set 6-4.
Cobolli saved a break point in the first game of the second set before breaking serve in the second and fourth games to win the second set 6-1.
Cobolli saved a match point in the 10th game of the third set. Bublik earned his first mini-break to open up a 2-0 lead as Cobolli hit a forehand into the net. Cobolli won seven of the next nine points with two mini-breaks.
