Jannik Sinner’s rise to Grand Slam glory continues to be the talk amongst the tennis world.

The Italian has the chance to become the new world number three this week should he win the title in Rotterdam.

Sinner has made a great start to his bid with two victories over Botic Van De Zandschulp and Gael Monfils as he looks ahead to a quarter-final with Milos Raonic.

Now Sinner is starting to attract the attention of people across the tennis world including the Netherlands.

Doubles legends Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis know all too well about Sinner’s rise with Italy knocking the Netherlands out of the Davis Cup finals last year.

Sinner also defeated Van De Zandschulp and Jesper De Jong at the Australian Open on his way to the title.

Now in an interview with Ubaldo Scanagatta, Eltingh and Haarhuis spoke about Sinner’s potential with Eltingh also speaking about the early years of his career and which Italian players he was rivals with during the early stages of his career.

Jasmine Paolini is a game away from her first Grand Slam title after a stunning win at Wimbledon on Thursday.

Her reward is a clash against Barbora Krejcikova in what will be their first meeting on the Tour since the qualifying rounds of the 2018 Australian Open. Krejcikova staged an impressive comeback to beat 2022 Elena Rybakina in three sets. 

Ubitennis founder Ubaldo Scanagatta and tennis Hall of Famer Steve Flink review the action that took place in the women’s semi-finals and look ahead to the men’s matches. Daniil Medvedev will play reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz in the first match on Friday. Then it will be Novak Djokovic against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti.

Jannik Sinner might be out of the men’s draw but Italian interest is still high thanks to Lorenzo Musetti.

Musetti, who is currently ranked 25th in the world, ousted Taylor Fritz in a five-set roller-coaster to move into the semi-finals. It is the first time the 22-year-old had reached the last four of a Grand Slam event in his career and he is only the fourth man from his country to reach this stage at Wimbledon.
