Defending champions Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury came back from one set down to beat Australian Open champions Rinky Hijikata and Jason Kubler 5-7 6-1 10-2 after 83 minutes improving to 3-0 in Red Group of the doubles tournament at the Nitto ATP Finals.
Ram and Salisbury did not convert three set points in the 10th game. Hijikata and Kubler earned the first break in the 11th game to take a 6-5 lead before sealing the first set 7-5 on their second set point.
Hijikata and Kubler earned an early break in the first game of the second set, but Rama and Salisbury won six consecutive breaks with three breaks of serve. Ram and Salisbury earned four mini-breaks to win the Match tie-break 10-2.
Ram and Salisbury will face Santiago Gonzales and Edouard Roger Vasselin in the semifinal. Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos will meet Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden.
Ram and Salisbury have extended their winning streak to eight matches at the ATP Finals in Turin and won this title in 2022. They have won their third consecutive US Open title in 2023.
