Emma Raducanu has provided a positive injury update ahead of her return to the WTA tour.

Raducanu has not played since the 18th of April when she lost in straight sets to Jelena Ostapenko in Stuttgart.

The defeat had come after a positive tournament at Indian Wells where she lost in the fourth round to Iga Swiatek.

Despite an attempt to play Madrid, Raducanu conceded defeat to her injury crisis as she made the difficult decision to undergo wrist and knee surgery that ruled her out of Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

As the injuries mounted up, it was clear something needed to be done as it looked likely she might be done for the season.

However the former US Open champion shared on Instagram that she has had her first practice session today in London as she was seen practicing with Kyle Edmund.

It’s unlikely that Raducanu will compete at the US Open in New York although the Brit would get a wildcard if she requested one.

The Brit has fallen to 133 in the world and will look to recover her ranking quickly in order to enter the biggest tournaments in the world without a wildcard.

The US Open will start on the 28th of August and concludes on the 10th of September.
