Christopher Eubanks admits he is still adapting to new-found fame back in his home in Atlanta.

The American is getting ready to compete at his home tournament in Atlanta next week where he is the fifth seed.

Part of the reason why Eubanks is the fifth seed is down to his great run on the grass courts where he won the title in Mallorca and reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon.

Eubanks defeated Cameron Norrie and Stefanos Tsitsipas on his way to the last eight which has seen him rise to 31 in the world and now puts him in pole position to be seeded at the US Open.

As much as the success has it’s pros on the court, Eubanks is still getting used to the fame off the court as he returns to Atlanta this week, “As I’m getting ready to pay, I stand up, a guy sitting directly next to me sees me and I guess he turns to me and he goes, ‘Hey, my son also went to West, we’re so proud of you like keep it up’, and gave me a fist bump and I was like, ‘Man this is different, this is weird,” Eubanks said to the Behind The Racket Podcast.

So I’ve had to adjust with a little bit of that and since being home out of the ordinary. Earlier, a couple hours ago, I went to a native one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, and a guy saying he went to high school with my older brother and they were supporting me and I’m like, ‘Okay, thanks.’

It’s weird, very, very weird. It’s something I’m not used to, but I think I’m handling it fine.”

Eubanks will have to get used to the fame and popularity in Atlanta as he competes there this week.

The other stars competing at the ATP 250 event this week include Taylor Fritz, Alex De Minaur, Dan Evans, Kei Nishikori and John Isner.
