Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will start his campaign against Tomas Etcheverry in the first round at Indian Wells.
Murray could face Pablo Carreno Busta in the second round if he wins the match against Etcheverry.
Draper will face Swiss qualifier Leandro Riedi in the first round and possibly Evans in the second round.
There is a possibility that Murray faces either Daniel Evans or Jack Draper in an all-British third round match. Last year he reached the semifinal before losing to Alexander Bublik in straight sets.
Murray has not gone beyond at Indian Wells in 2015. The Scottish player finished runner-up to Rafael Nadal in 2009 and reached the semifinal in 2007 and 2015.
At last January Murray reached the third round after five-set wins against 13th seed Matteo Berrettini and Thanasi Kokkinakis. His match against Kokkinakis lasted 5 hours and 45 minutes, the longest in Murray’s career so far. He lost to Roberto Bautista Agut in four sets in the third round. Murray saved five match points to beat Jir Lehecka 6-0 3-6 7-6 (8-6) to advance to the final in Doha before finishing runner-up to Danil Medvedev in the final.
“Honestly, I don’t really care too much about the fact that I could Draper or Evans. Obviously I can see why it’s interesting. If Evans plays against Jack, I will be interested in the match. I am not particularly bothered by it and for me it’s not going to impact me until the third round. I need to get there and this is not always a tournament where I have played amazing”, said Murray.
Carlos Alcaraz features in the same top half of the draw and I projected to play against Murray in a potential fourth round match.
