Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic battled past Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 10-8 to advance to the final at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
Mektic and Pavic won 82% of their first service points and saved all five break points they faced.
The Croatian players broke serve in the third game to close out the first set 6-4. Both players went on serve en route to the tie-break. Glasspool and Heliovaara earned two mini-breaks to win the tie-break 7-4 setting up the decisive Match Tie-Break.
Glasspool and Heliovaara earned an early mini-break to take a 2-0 lead in the Match Tie-Break. Mektic and Pavic won 10 of the next 14 points thanks to three mini-breaks. “During the match there were some tough games on our serve, but we survived it. We were focused and we really wanted this win and I am so happy we gave ourselves a chance tomorrow”, said Mektic.
