Alexander Bublik admitted he is pleased with conditions in Florence as he defeated Cristian Garin 7-5 6-2 to reach the second round.
The Kazakh was triumphant in his opening round in Italy as he defeated Garin in straight sets.
Bublik broke on three occasions as he recorded 37 winners on his way to a place in the second round.
Speaking to the ATP website after the match Bublik admitted he was pleased with conditions as he looks to finish the season on a high, “I played a good match, I stayed solid, I served well,” Bublik stated after the match.
“The conditions fit me well, the court is quite fast, so I’m pleased with my game and let’s see what goes on after. I do believe you must improve every day, and improve everything, so I wouldn’t find a specific thing that I need to improve.
“But I think the overall game, if I can stay solid, stay disciplined, I think we can talk about something bigger.”
After sealing his 30th win of the season on the ATP tour, Bublik will now face Corentin Moutet in the second round with the Frenchman defeating Flavio Cobolli on Monday.
Also on Tuesday so far there was a 6-1 6-2 victory for Mikael Ymer over Tim Van Rijthoven with the Swede now playing fifth seed Aslan Karatsev in the second round.
Oscar Otte set up a round two meeting with Felix Auger-Aliassime after the German defeated Marton Fucsovics 3-6 6-4 6-2.
While Bernabe Zapata Miralles stunned Lorenzo Sonego 6-4 6-4 to set up a match with Lorenzo Musetti in the next round.
