It feels like we’re fast running out of superlatives to describe the world number one in women’s tennis.

But what Iga Świątek is doing on the court is unbelievable.

There seems to be so much confidence behind every shot.

Just watching the match against Daria Kasatkina, no player can get close to the Pole.

They all look void of any ideas, bar Qinwen Zheng who took the match to her the 21-year-old. There’s just virtually nothing they can do to even challenge Świątek.

At the beginning of the match at two-all, it appeared we were in for quite a contest.

But then Świątek won five games on the spin with a combination of monster hitting, winners spraying the court as well as good shot selection.

Kasatkina made a few sloppy errors, particularly, a wind impacted smash but she didn’t do that much wrong.

It was mainly her opponent was just simply far too good.

Eventually, the 20th seed won a game but that was a mere footnote as Świątek simply walloped Kasatkina 6-2, 6-1 for her 34th win on the trot.

Now, another French Open final beckons.

This Saturday promises to be dynamite.

With the winner of Coco Gauff and Martina Trevisan the final obstacle between this week’s birthday girl and a second Grand Slam title.
