World number one Novak Djokovic has been handed a tough draw in Belgrade as he looks to build momentum ahead of Roland Garros.
The Serb will look to bounce back in his home country after losing in his opening match of the clay court season to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
A three set defeat to the Spaniard means that Djokovic has work to do in order to successfully defend his title at Roland Garros next month.
Now Djokovic heads to his home country in search of confidence and form in what will be his third tournament of the season.
However in order for the Serb to win the title he will have to endure a tough draw which could begin against compatriot Laslo Djere.
Djere played very well last week where he reached the last 16 in Monaco, losing to defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Should Djokovic get past Djere then the world number one could take on either Indian Wells and Miami Open quarter-finalist Miomir Kecmanovic or Dominic Thiem.
Also in Djokovic’s half of the draw is Karen Khachanov, David Goffin and Filip Krajinovic.
In the bottom half of the draw are Andrey Rublev and last year’s finalist Aslan Karatsev.
Rublev will face a qualifier or Henri Laaksonen in his first match of the week with a potential last eight meeting with Cristian Garin awaiting him.
While Karatsev takes on Oscar Otte or Alejandro Tabilo in his first match with Fabio Fognini awaiting in his quarter.
Play starts on Monday with the winner of this week’s event in Serbia winning 250 ranking points.
