Spain’s Albert Ramos Vinolas came back from one set down to beat Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo 4-6 6-3 6-4 in the final of the Cordoba Open claiming the fourth ATP Tour title of his career.
The Spaniard rallied from a break down in the second set and two breaks down in the third set to claim the title after 2 hours and 41 minutes.
Ramos Vinolas converted his fourth break point in the third game to take a 2-1 lead. Tabilo rallied from 1-3 down by winning five of the next six games with two breaks to close out the first set 6-4.
Tabilo earned a break at love in the second game to open up a 2-0 lead. Ramos Vinolas broke straight back at love in the third game. Ramos Vinolas won the final three games from 3-3 with two breaks to take the second set 6-3.
Ramos Vinolas, who finished runner-up to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in last year’s final in Cordoba, won the final five games from 1-4 down to win the third set 6-4. The Spanish player pulled both breaks back to draw level to 4-4. Tabilo earned a break point in the ninth game. The Chilan player would have served for the match, if he had converted his chance. Ramos Vinolas hit a big serve before breaking serve for the seventh time.
“For me it was a very good week here last year and this year also. I am really happy I made the final last year”, said Ramos Vinolas.
