Pablo Carreno Busta edged Federico Delbonis 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 tin 1 hour and 55 minutes o reach the final at the European Open in Hamburg.
Carreno Busta fended off all four break points he faced and won 75% of his second service points.
Carreno Busta is bidding to win the sixth title of his career and his second trophy this year following the Marbella Open.
Neither player faced a beak point in the first set en route to the tie-break. After holding his first service game Carreno Busta earned a crucal break in the fifth game. The Spanish player earned his second break and closed out the match as Delbonishit his backhand into the net.
“It was a tough match today, but I am very happy because Federico is a really tough player. Lways when I play against him, I am very uncormontable, I am happy because my level tday was very good”, said Carreno Busta.
Carreno Busta set up a final against Filip Krajinovic, who beat Laslo Djere 6-4 6-2 with three breaks of serve after 1 hour and 17 minutes. Krajinovic has reached his first final since 2019. Krajinovic will be aiming to win his first title after reaching the finals at the 2017 Paris Rolex Masters, the Hungarian Open and Stockolm Open in 2019.
