Parma will host an ATP 250 clay-court tournament from Saturday 22 May to Saturday 29 May, one week before the start of Roland Garros.
The Northern Italian tournament will be held at the President Tennis Club of Montechiarugolo, a small town close to the city of Parma.
Italian tennis is enjoying a golden period with ten players in the top 100 for the first time in history. Italy hosts the Masters 1000 in Rome, the ATP Finals in Turin, the Next Gen Finals in Milan, two ATP 250 tournaments in Parma and Cagliari.
The ITF has also announced that Turin will host two round robin matches and a quarter final of the 2021 Davis Cup Finals.
Frances Tiafoe won an ATP Challenger tournament in Parma last October. The tournament is organised by MEF Tennis Events, which already runs ATP Challenger tournaments in Italy and abroad. It has already organised tournaments in Parma, Montechiarugolo and Forlì, which were won by former world number 5 Tommy Robredo, Frances Tiafoe and Lorenzo Musetti.
