Serbian tennis star Viktor Troicki has become the third top 100 player within the last 24 hours to announce he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 34-year-old underwent a test on Sunday after his pregnant wife Aleksandra tested positive for the virus two days earlier. Their daughter has tested negative. Troicki didn’t play in the Adria Tour in Croatia over the weekend, where both Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric were found to have tested positive. However, he did take part in the Belgrade leg on the tour that took place between June 12-14.

“It is true that my wife and I are positive. She was tested on Friday, and my daughter and I on Sunday after we found out she was positive. My daughter is negative, and my wife and I are positive,” Troicki said in a statement issued to Telegraf.rs.

Troicki had originally been planning to play in the Eastern European Championships, which is being organised by former top 10 player Janko Tipsarević. However, organizers said he had withdrawn from the competition due to injury. That statement came prior to his COVID-19 announcement.

There has been no comment on where he and his wife may have contracted the virus, but eyes have once again been cast on the Adria Tour. In Belgrade, he played matches against Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Filip Krajinovic. It is only known for certain that Zverev doesn’t have the virus after undergoing a test on Sunday. Meanwhile, Djokovic will know his result tomorrow and it is unclear as to what testing Krajinovic has had. All players attended events to coincide with the Tour, including partying at a local nightclub.

Meanwhile, Sport Klub has reported that Bosnian player Damir Dzumhur has tested negative for the Virus. Dzumhur played one match in Belgrade but retired whilst trailing 2-0 to Dominic Thiem.

Troicki has been ranked as high as 12th in the world back in 2011 and has won three ATP titles during his career.
