Kim Clijsters will face Kiki Bertens in her first tennis match back in seven years when she competes in Dubai next week.
The 36 year-old, who hasn’t competed on the WTA tour since the 2012 US Open will have to face the world number eight in her opening match since her hiatus.
It is sure to be a tough test for the Belgian since Bertens has been in good form over the last 12 months and is in the St. Petersburg semi-finals this week.
Should Clijsters somehow win her first match back then she could face Ukrainian rising star Dayana Yastremska in the second round.
In the same quarter as six-time grand slam champion, is the third seed Elina Svitolina, who has been given a tricky test against Australian Open finalist Garbine Muguruza.
The Ukrainian will be looking to avenge the thrashing that she received from Muguruza in Melbourne in January while the Spaniard enters Dubai as a wildcard.
In other sections of the draw top seed Simona Halep will face a tough test against either Alison Riske or Ons Jabeur in her first match. While in that top quarter 9th seed Aryna Sabalenka will play the in-form Greek Maria Sakkari.
Defending champion Belinda Bencic will have a hard-hitting match with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova while Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin will face Elena Rybakina in her opening match of the tournament.
