Jannik Sinner’s rapid rise on the ATP Tour will now be under the guidance of management agency StarWing Sports after he signed a multi-year deal.

The 18-year-old Italian is currently the youngest player in the top 100 at 93rd in the world. A significant rise for a player who started 2019 ranked 319th. This season he has won Challenger titles in Bergamo, Italy and Lexington, USA. Becoming only the 11th player in history to win multiple Challenger titles before their 18th birthday.

“We are super excited to start this relationship with Jannik,” StarWing’s CEO and owner, Lawrence Frankopan, said in a statement. “We have been following his progress for quite some time now and were very impressed with him, on and off the court. At such a young age he is showing great potential, unique personality and great fighting spirit, all characteristics of a true champion. We hope to help his long-time coach Riccardo Piatti and his team at Piatti Tennis Center in guiding Jannik to the very top of the game.”

Once a promising skier in his youth, Sinner has also made an impression on the ATP Tour. Earlier this month he stunned both Gael Monfils and Frances Tiafoe en route to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open. Becoming the youngest player to do so since Borna Coric at the 2014 Swiss Indoors. In total, he has played only 15 matches on the ATP Tour so far in his career.

Guiding the Italian on the tour is renowned coach Riccardo Piatti. Who previously collaborated with Novak Djokovic during his teenage years. The two have been working together since Sinner was 13. Also in his team is second coach Andrea Volpini, fitness coach Dalibor Sirola and physiotherapist Claudio Zimaglia.

“We feel that we have a great team around Jannik,” said Piatti. “With Lawrence and the team behind StarWing Sports we have found the only missing part. We are confident they are the perfect fit for the role of Jannik’s agents as their reputation in the industry and track record are impressive.”

The next tournament for Sinner will on home soil next week at the Next Gen Finals in Milan, where he has been awarded a wild card. He will be bidding to become the first Italian player to reach the semi-final stage of the tournament, which was created back in 2017.

Sinner is the latest tennis play to join StarWing Sports. The agency also represents Stan Wawrinka, Johanna Konta and Karen Khachanov.
