WIMBLEDON: Relishing in the aftermath of her comprehensive victory over Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final on Saturday, Simona Halep faced the world’s media. A packed room greeted the new champion, whose first words was ‘wow’ at the number of people who were there. She was asked an estimated 20 questions during the session, but did we learn from it?

1.She loves her newest membership
As a result of her victory at Wimbledon, Halep has secured membership to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC). A prestigious private tennis club that is responsible for the organization of the grand slam. It is limited an estimated 400 members a year and there is even a committee to select certain members. Benefits of joining the club include a dedicated seat on center court, access to the gym and courts, and eating facilities. The current chairman of the club is Phillip Brook, who will soon be stepping down.
“I wanted this badly. When I started the tournament, I talked to the people from the locker room that my dream is to become a member here. So today it’s real and I’m really happy.” Said Halep, who was wearing her member’s badge in her press conference.
“I met Philip (Brook). He told me, Any time you want, you can come, have dinner, have lunch, playing a little bit tennis. I will come for sure.” She added.
