Roger Federer cruised past Pierre-Hughes Herbert to reach his 13th Halle final with a 6-3 6-3 victory.
The nine-time champion only lost five points on serve as he cruised into a record-breaking 13th final in Halle with a win over Pierre-Hughes Herbert.
A third break of serve sealed the match in 62 minutes as he looks for a 10th title at one of his favourite tournaments of his career.
In the final, Federer will play David Goffin as he searches for a third title of the season.
It was a very nervy and passive start from the Frenchman as he conceded the early break to Federer who applied immediate pressure.
After surviving two tough matches, today seemed much easier for Federer as he seemed to cruise past Herbert especially on serve.
Only dropping four points on serve saw Federer become untouchable as Herbert failed to convert a single break point in the contest.
The world number 43 managed to avoid an early double break deficit with some clutch forehands but was unable to produce any good returns.
Another comfortable hold sealed the opening set for Federer as he took one step towards the final.

A much better second set from Herbert was produced as he managed to save a few break points early on as he showed why he made the semi-finals.
But again Federer turned out to be irresistible on serve as he mixed up his patterns well, keeping Herbert guessing on return.
A love hold of his own boosted the confidence of Herbert as he searched for that key moment to turn the match around against the 37 year-old.
That never came though and Federer once again rushed the Frenchman by striking the ball early and coming to the net.
Two breaks of serve at the end of the set secured Federer’s 13th Halle final as now only David Goffin stands in his way of a 10th title on the grass in Germany.
Tomorrow’s final takes place at 1pm local time tomorrow.
