Part 1 and 2 of our special series can be read HERE and HERE.

Washington, DC: Andy Murray breaks down after winning a match the ended past 3:00am

In one of his first tournaments back following a year of inaction due to hip surgery, Murray openly let the tears flow as he sat in his chair after a third set tiebreak against Marius Copil.

Rogers Cup: Buzarnescu injures her ankle in Montreal

This one is hard to watch. Deep into a third set against Elina Svitolina, Mihaela Buzarnescu went over on her ankle, crumbling to the court and screaming out in pain. The injury would derail a career-best season for the 30-year-old, who had just debuted in the top 20 coming off her first career WTA title only a few days earlier in San Jose. Following the injury, Buzarnescu would not win another match in 2018.

Rogers Cup: Halep outlasts Stephens in one of the year’s best finals

On her fourth championship point, Halep fell to the court in a mix of excitement and exasperation after hitting an ace to close out the match. Stephens was in tears following the defeat, getting hugs from her team as consolation.
