Nick Kyrgios has remained positive about his elbow injury ahead of the second grand slam of the season at the French Open.

The Australian is currently playing doubles in Lyon with American Jack Sock as he looks to test out his elbow just before Roland Garros. The duo are into the doubles final after a 7-5 6-4 victory over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Divji Sharan in the semi-finals.

Earlier in the week the 23 year old explained that he remains positive over his chances of playing the second grand slam of the season, “Obviously I came to Lyon to obviously see how my elbow was going to be and, at the moment, it’s feeling good,” explained the Australian. “I’ve done all the work to try and get it back and, yeah, I’m feeling good. At the moment, it’s going very well.”

The world number 23 will be looking to gain more confidence in today’s doubles final where he and Sock play Roman Jebavy and Matwe Middelkoop. After his doubles final, the controversial Australian will hope to be fit in time for his first round encounter in Paris, where he plays fellow Aussie, Bernard Tomic. The two players have had recent bad blood between each other so the match could be an interesting one to watch when they step onto court on Monday.
