Former world No.1 Andy Murray has returned to the practice courts at the Patrick Mouratoglou academy three months after undergoing surgery.
The triple grand slam champion hasn’t played a competitive match since the Wimbledon Championships due to a hip injury. In January, Murray underwent surgery in Australia after failing to be ready in time for the first grand slam of the season in Melbourne.
It is unknown as to when the Brit will start his return to the tour. Set to missed the entire clay swing of the tour, recent reports has suggested that he may be planning a return earlier than expected. The British LTA has recently confirmed that two Challenger tournaments in Glasgow and Loughborough will take place in May on the hard courts. Raising the possibility that Murray would potentially feature in one or both of them.
It has been confirmed that Murray will spend a week at the Patrick Mouratoglou academy. A 12-hectare sport and leisure complex located 15 minutes away from Niece International airport.
“Andy Murray arrived on Friday night and will stay until at least the first week of April,” a member of the academy told AFP on Monday.
There has been no comment from Murray or his camp regarding his current fitness level. Accompanying the 30-year-old in Niece is coach Jamie Delgado, fitness trainer Matt Little and physio Shane Annun.
