Former world No.1 Ana Ivanovic has given birth to a baby boy, according to multiple media reports.
Ivanovic, 30, welcomed the arrival of her first child on Saturday with her partner Bastian Schweinsteiger. Schweinsteiger is a German football player who currently plays for American team Chicago Fire F.C. The couple has named their child Luka. Both mother and child are reported to be in good health by Serbian website Blic Sports.
Former French Open champion Ivanovic has been in a relationship with Schweinsteiger since 2014. The couple got engaged in July 2015 before getting married a year later at a star studded wedding in Venice, Italy.
It was at the end of the year she got married when the Serbian announced her retirement from tennis at the age of 29. Troubled by a series of injury issues as well as disappointing results on the tour, Ivanovic decided to end her career. During her time as a player, she won 15 WTA titles and spent a total of 12 weeks as world No.1. Her last competitive match was at the 2016 US Open where she lost in the first round to Denisa Allertova.
There is yet to be any formal announcement concerning the birth of baby Luka.
