
2018 Australian Open finalist, Simona Halep was discharged from hospital on Sunday morning after concerns about her hydration levels during her Women’s Singles Final with Caroline Wozniacki.
The Romanian was taken to hospital on Saturday evening according to ESPN, WTA Insider and various other sources after suffering dehydration during her epic final with Caroline Wozniacki. The Romanian suffered worrying blood pressure levels during the match, which had a humidity of 70%.
After several press events attended, the three time grand slam finalist was taken to Hospital and it is believed that she spent four hours in Melbourne’s local hospital. She was then discharged on Sunday Morning after returning to full strength, here is a picture of the official world number one in hospital:

En route to the final, Halep endured some physically demanding encounters with the likes of Lauren Davis and the in-form Angelique Kerber. Hopefully this is a message to Australian Open organisers that they should look out for the safety of players in the future.
Simona Halep’s next tournament will be in Doha, which starts in 15 days.
