Three time grand slam champion, Stan Wawrinka returns to practice following a frustrating 2017 season.
The 2016 US Open champion suffered a left knee injury following his first round exit at Wimbledon at the hands of Russian Daniil Medvedev.
The current world number 7 had to have surgery and missed the second half of the 2017 season as he recuperated at his home in Switzerland.
However today he showed his progress as he practiced for the first time since his operation in July and it seems that Wawrinka’s one handed backhand is looking better than ever before. Here he is in action:

Wawrinka only won one title in 2017, which was in Geneva just before Roland Garros, where he beat Mischa Zverev in the final.
Switzerland’s number two also reached the French Open this year where he lost to Rafael Nadal in the final as the Spaniard completed ‘La Decima’.
Wawrinka will hope to have a similar impact that Roger Federer had when he returned from injury this season. The former world number three will return to the tour in January, as he bids to win his second Australian Open.
