Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her fiancee Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian are set to tie the knot this week in New Orleans. The event is expected take place at the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center, with news of the wedding kept under wraps until very recently.
Williams and Ohanian first announced their engagement nearly eleven months ago, on December 29th 2016. Since then the pair have both become parents for the first time after Williams gave birth to a baby girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr in September.
Williams has not played since winning the Australian Open on account of her pregnancy, though the 36 year-old has repeatedly insisted that she will return to tennis. She defeated sister Venus in the Australian Open final, with her lone defeat of the year coming against fellow American Madison Brengle in an Australian Open warm-up event in Auckland.
Williams is one of the most decorated players of all time, having won 23 Grand Slam singles titles in her career. She has also won 14 Grand slam doubles titles with her sister Venus. She is also a four time Olympic Gold Medallist, having won three doubles medals and one singles.
It is thought that once married the couple will move to set up their main residence in San Francisco, California.
