At the start of 2017 Roger Federer stunned the world by winning the Australian Open in his first ATP tournament following a six-month injury. Now at the end of the year David Goffin will take on Grigor Dimitrov in the end-of-season showdown at the ATP Finals.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s Final, Goffin could have the edge over Dimitrov, who will rise to No.3 three in the world. The Belgian has spent less hours on the court than his opponent. Meaning he may be in a better position physically.
A Goffin win was never expected, but it would perfectly summarize how 2017 has been in the world of tennis.
