Former World No.1 Angelique Kerber has announced that she will work with Belgian coach Wim Fissette in 2018.
(2/2) The next season is coming soon and I’m very excited to start working with @WimFissette as my new coach. It’s a new chance and I’m curious to find out what we can achieve together.

Kerber started 2017 as the World No.1, but suffered a torrid year, and finished ranked No.21. She had won the Australian Open and US Open in 2016. However, she failed to make a quarter-final at a Grand Slam in 2017. She suffered shock first round exits at Roland Garros, and as the defending champion at the US Open.
Fissette, 37, brings a wealth of experience coaching on the WTA Tour. He first worked with compatriot Kim Clijsters, with Clijsters winning two US Opens and an Australian Open whilst working with him. He coached Sabine Lisicki to her only Grand Slam final to date at Wimbledon, and coached Simona Halep to a then career-high ranking of No.2 in the world.
Fissette had most recently spent some time working with Johanna Konta in 2017.
