
The main draw for the Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wild Card Play-Off 2018 has been announced.
The tournament, which will give a wild-card into the main draw of Melbourne, is ready to start on Wednesday, as 16 players are set to battle on the outdoor hard-courts of the Zhuhai Hengqin International Tennis Centre in China. At the same time, the doubles tournament will take place as well, with 12 teams taking part.
South Korea’s Soon-Woo Kwon (ATP Ranking 168) leads the field, followed by China’s Ze Zhang (194) and Japan’s Yusuke Takahashi (270), while the Ratiwatana brothers from Thailand are the first seeds of the doubles draw. Chinese 17 year-old Lingxi Zhao was the latest entry after beating Japanese veteran Toshihide Matsui 6-4 7-5 in the only qualifying match.
