On Sunday Swiss maestro Roger Federer became only the second man in history to win a 95th ATP title at the Swiss Open. He remains 14 titles behind the all-time record, but there is a strong possibility that he can one day break it.

Ubitennis founder Ubaldo Scanagatta and Steve Flink from the Tennis Channel reflect on Federer’s latest title on the tour, which is his seventh of the season. Both believe he has the chance to win more trophies over the next two or three years. Federer recently confirmed that he has signed a contract to play in Basel until 2019.

At the age of 37, the Swiss carefully constructs his schedule to minimise the risk of injury. In doing so, once again Paris has been left in the dark. The world No.2 has withdrawn from this week’s Paris Masters in a move described by Flink as ‘smart.’ Meaning that Rafael Nadal is a match win away from securing the year-end No.1 honour.

Federer’s focus is now on the season-ending ATP Finals in London, where he will be bidding to win it for a record seventh time. Scanagatta and Flink analyses his chances at the O2 Arena and look ahead to what might be in store for 2018.
