Moments after lifting her maiden grand slam title at the US Open, Sloane Stephens was praised by some of her fellow rivals on social media.
The 24-year-old dropped only three games during her 63-minute thrashing of Madison Keys. On route to the title she produced wins over Roberta Vinci, Dominika Cibulkova [11], Ashleigh Barty, Julia Görges [30], Anastasija Sevastova [16], Venus Williams [9] and Keys [15].
Stephens hasn’t just been praised for her one-sided dominance in the final. Players have also hailed her exchange with Keys after the match. They two friends paid tribute to one and another during the trophy ceremony and was laughing with each other after the match.

Claiming $3.7 Million in prize money, Stephens will re-enter the top 20 for the first time since June 2016. She is the fourth African American woman to win the US Open after Althea Gibson, Venus and Serena Williams.
