A trio of familiar names have committed to playing the Delray Beach tournament in February. Defending champion Jack Sock, and 2016 winner and 2017 runner-up Milos Raonic have both confirmed that they will play the event next year.
Raonic and Sock were due to contest the 2017 final before Raonic was forced to withdraw with a hamstring injury.
Another former champion Juan Martin del Potro, has also committed to the event. The tall Argentine won the tournament in 2011 when he defeated Janko Tipsarevic. Delray Beach is also the location that Del Potro returned to the tour this year after injury forced him to miss most of the first two months of the season, including the Australian Open in January.
Raonic: “I had a great time at the tournament. The staff, the volunteers, the crowd, and the tournament director were all phenomenal toward me. It was a very pleasurable experience, one that I hope I can live through again.”
There will also be a ATP Champions Tour event taking place. The ATP Champions Tour is a format where former players can play competitive against other retired pros in a single set environment. Former players who have played in the Delray Beach event include Andy Roddick, Mardy Fish, and James Blake.
