Thursday saw the women’s draw open up further with the shock exit of Karolina Pliskova, who went out in three sets to Magdaléna Rybáriková. Meanwhile, Angelique Kerber kept her title chances alive with a testing victory over former Wimbledon semifinalist Kisten Flipkens.
In the men’s draw, both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic came through in straight sets. Djokovic dropped just five games in his clash with Czech player Adam Pavlásek. On the other hand, Federer endured a slightly tougher test against Martin Klizan before winning 7-6(0), 6-3, 6-2.
Scanagatta and Flink also look ahead to today’s action at SW19. Andy Murray will resume his campaign against Fabio Fognini, a player he has lost to earlier in the year. Their tie is currently level at 3-3 and some are predicting a shock loss on day 5 at the tournament.
