Rafael Nadal has become the first member of the ‘big four’ to exit Wimbledon on Monday when he was edged out by Gilles Muller in a thrilling five-set encounter.
During the almost five-hour match, the Spaniard managed to hit 23 aces, 77 winners and only 17 unforced errors, but it was not enough to tame his rival from Luxembourg. Elsewhere in the men’s draw, Roger Federer made easy work of Grigor Dimitrov and Milos Raonic got the better of Alexander Zverev in another five-set roller coaster at SW19.
Ubaldo Scanagatta and Steve Flink review the highs and lows from the second Monday at the tournament.
