David Goffin has decided to withdraw from the championships in Wimbledon due to the ankle injury that he suffered at Roland Garros.
The current world number 13 suffered an ankle injury during his third round match at Roland Garros. The Belgian was building some momentum before this injury and was on course to make a dangerous run in Paris this year. The scans revealed that the injury wasn’t as bad as first feared however it now seems that Goffin will spend a hefty time on the sidelines. Here is what Goffin said on his Instagram page:

The Belgian will be gutted to miss one of the biggest tournaments on the ATP World Tour calendar however he will hope to be fit for the American hard court swing in August.
