The talented German will miss the second grand slam of the year after suffering a horrible fall in Nurnberg.
The fall happened during her second round clash with Barbora Krejcikova. She was leading 6-4 5–5 with the Czech Republican before she twisted her right knee in a nasty fall. As a result she left the court crying and was stretchered off and was forced to retire from the contest. It was later confirmed that she would be absent from Roland Garros. The German was starting to build momentum and was one of the outsiders for the trophy. She joins Simona Halep and Eugenie Bouchard on the injured list, in which both Halep and Bouchard are doubts for the French Open.
Remember the Roland Garros draw takes place this Friday from 12pm local time.
