Former junior world No.1 Laura Robson is set to start working with Swedish coach Magnus Norman as she continues her rise up the rankings.

According to sources speaking with The Daily Mail, Robson will train at the Good to Great Academy in Stockholm. Recently the British player has been without a main coach. During her tour in Japan, Robson was guided by Jeremy Bates, a member of the British Lawn Tennis Association.

Norman is a former top-10 player who reached the final of the 2000 French Open. After his professional career, the Swede has coached a series of top players. His most high-profile work is with Stan Wawrinka. In 2016 the ATP named Norman their ‘coach of the year’ due to his work with the Swiss player. He had also previously worked with Robin Soderling and Grigor Dimitrov.

The announcement comes just days after Robson won the ITF $60,000 Kurume Open, the third title of her career. As a result of her triumph, the 23-year-old has broken back into the world’s top-200 for the first time since August 2014. She is now ranked 169th in the world.

A former teenage prodigy of British tennis, Robson’s development on the tour has been halted by injury. Between 2014-2015, she missed almost 17 months of competitive tennis after undergoing surgery on her wrist. Earlier this year she started working with a sports psychologist after suffering a series of disappointing losses.

“I’ve started working with a really good guy, but it’s not an overnight change, and he’s the first one to say that. You have to commit to this sort of thing. In the past, I’ve been a bit sceptical about it, but I’m now at the stage where I’ll try anything.” She said in January.

Prior to her injury woes, Robson achieved a ranking high of 27th in 2013. In 2012 she reached her first and so far only WTA final at the Guangzhou International in China.
