The entry lists for the Mercedes Cup and the Ricoh Open, which are the first Atp tournaments on grass of 2017, have just been announced.
The Mercedes Cup will take place in Stuttgart (Germany), while the Ricoh Open will be played in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands); both tournaments are Atp 250 events.
World’s top players Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych and Grigor Dimitrov joined Stuttgart’s field, alongside other great grass-court players like Feliciano Lopez and Bernard Tomic. Austrian defending champion Dominic Thiem didn’t commit to play.
Marin Cilic and David Goffin lead the ‘s-Hertogenbosch entry list, followed by Richard Gasquet, Ivo Karlovic and Juan Martin Del Potro. Several grass-court specialist chose to play there: defending champion Nicolas Mahut, Dustin Brown and Gilles Muller will also look for the title.
