On the final day of this year’s Stuttgart Open, the WTA has announced a new partnership with renowned German manufacturer Porsche.

The new partnership will see the car manufacturer become the principal sponsor of the qualifying campaign for the end-of-year WTA Finals. Each year, eight of the world’s best players on the tour battle it out at the multi-million dollar tournament, which is currently being hosted in Singapore. In accordance to the new agreement, the qualifying campaign will be renamed the ‘Porsche road to Singapore.’

“The WTA is delighted to strengthen its long-standing relationship with Porsche. Porsche has supported women’s tennis for 40 years and we look forward to now creating a global footprint for the brand’s association with the WTA,” WTA CEO Steve Simon said in a statement.

In 2004 Porsche was given a “Long Time Contribution Award” by the WTA for their long involvement and sponsorship of women’s tennis. The company has been linked with women’s tennis for many years, sponsoring the Stuttgart Open since its birth in 1978. The tournament was given ‘Premier’ status in 2013 and has been played on clay since 2009.

“The title sponsorship of the Porsche Race to Singapore contributes to the internationalization of our engagement in women’s tennis,” Porsche executive board member Detlev von Platen told wtatennis.com. “It intensifies our successful partnership with the WTA and enriches it with a new attractive element. Alongside our national activities and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix’s worldwide presence, this new element provides value and visibility throughout the entire year in women’s tennis.”

As a result of the new deal, the player who comes first in the road to Singapore rankings will take home a new Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet. The car is priced at £104,000 and above on Porsche’s official website. Coincidently the car is also the same prize the winner of this year’s Stuttgart Open will get. Kristina Mladenovic will play Laura Siegemund in the final.

Karolina Pliskova is currently leading the road to Singapore with 2151 points. This season the Czech has won titles in Brisbane and Doha. Unlike the WTA rankings, the race only counts points earned within a single season.
