The official acceptance list for the men’s main draw of the Roland Garros has been announced.
The most prestigious clay-court tournament, which is played in Paris, will take place from the 28th of May to the 11th of June, while the qualifying tournament will take place a week before, from the 22nd to the 27th of May.
The defending champion is Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who defeated Andy Murray in the 2016 edition’s final, while Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem were the other semifinalists.
With Roger Federer still unsure about playing or not, the Spaniard nine-time former champion Rafael Nadal will have a big chance to earn points, as he just got through two round last year before retiring due to injury.
Six players got into the main draw by using the protected ranking: Ricardas Berankis, Thanasi Kokkinakis, John Millman, Jerzy Janowicz, Tommy Robredo and Dmitry Tursunov. Last direct acceptance is Russia’s Evgeny Donskoy, ranked 98th.
