This year’s Australian Open has been one that amazed and shocked the tennis world with the comeback kids returning to the pinnacle of the sport. From Roger Federer’s run to the title in his first tournament since Wimbledon to Mirjana Lucic-Baroni’s journey to her first grand slam semi-final since 1999, this year’s Melbourne Major has lived up to its nickname as the ‘Happy Slam.’
Throughout the entire tournament, Ubitennis director Ubaldo Scanagatta conducted day-by-day video accounts of the biggest developments. Providing an insight into the action from Melbourne, he was joined by prestigious American journalists Ben Rothenberg and Steve Flink. Rothenberg works for the New York Times and is the co-host of the NCR Tennis Podcast. Meanwhile, Flink is known for his work with The Tennis Channel. During the Australian Open, Flink was introduced into the Tennis Hall of Fame along with Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters.
Relieving the highs and lows of a memorable two-weeks in Australia, the trio of experts provided their honest assessment of how the world’s best players performed and why some didn’t do so well as expected.
