Ever wanted to go on a date with a tennis player? Well, in Eugenie Bouchard’s case, all you need to do is make sure you win a bet on Twitter.
The former Wimbledon finalist has confirmed her intention to fulfil her losing bet after wrongly predicting that that Atlanta Falcons would win the Super Bowl on Sunday. Bouchard wrote the tweet on Sunday as the Falcons held a dominating 28-3 lead over the New England Patriots. Responding to the tweet was one opportunistic Chicago follower, who told Bouchard that they have to go on the date if the Falcons lost.

Bouchard’s bet soon backfired as the Patriots staged one of the greatest comebacks in Super Bowl history, winning 34-28 after the match went into overtime. As a result the Canadian now faces a date with somebody who she has never met. All that is known about Twitter user ‘TW1’ is that he lives in Chicago and goes to school in Missouri. He is also a keen golf fan (TW stands for Tiger Woods). Bouchard could have easily pulled out of the bet, but she is determined to fulfil her promise.

Next time Bouchard will think again before betting against Tom Brady and his team. Brady was voted MVP (most valuable player) in this year’s Super Bowl.

It is unclear when this date will occur and where. Chicago is only a three-hour flight from Miami, where a Premier tournament will occur next month. Maybe it is fate that has brought these two together?
