The man apprehended by security guards after trying to invade Novak Djokovic’s match against Kei Nishikori in the semifinals of the ATP Finals has pledged to do it again.
After one game played in the Saturday night match at the O2 Arena, a man in a tracksuit tried to jump the barrier and get onto the court. He was swiftly prevented after he was tackled and detained by a group of security guards before being escorted into custody. The incident failed to derail Djokovic’s momentum in the match, who later said that he didn’t believe that man pose a threat to either him or Nishikori.
“I actually think, judging by his trajectory to the court, that he wanted to get in the middle of the court and I guess be seen or something or send a message to somebody. I don’t think he wanted to harm the players.” Said Djokovic.
Details have now emerged about what the man planned to do. Interviewed by Trollstation, a YouTube channel that broadcasts ‘bizarre and surreal pranks’, the unnamed man said that he intended to go onto the court, pull down his trousers and ‘do a poo.’ Fortunately the type of poo he was referring to was a fake one.
The offender describes himself as a ‘prankster’ and said he plans to continue performing similar stunts. Referring to his questionable antics as his ‘plan A’, the man later revealed that he has an extensive criminal record. The full video can be seen below.
